BLUE FIGURES
I continued with this concept, playing hide and seek and choosing contradictory materials. Watercolor and ink on wax evoked shapes by themselves, resisting sometimes and appearing just right at other times. I’m not necessarily interested in literal figures for their specific shapes, but more so for the direct emotions they suggest, especially their interrelationship with others. I especially enjoyed working with series in small and intimate formats; creating narrative sequences that emulate a story or poem.
